Rocket Power: Team Rocket Rescue
Review by MTincher
"Kiddie? Yea!!! Fun? **** YEA!!!"
Introduction:
Rocket Power: Team Rocket Rescue came out in 2001 exclusively for Playstation. There are three different modes for 1 Player and two different modes for 2 Player. The 1 Player modes are Free Play, Tito’s Challenge and Story Mode. The 2 Player modes are Tito’s Challenge and Free Play.
Gameplay: 7/10
The gameplay really surprised me. I expected it to get boring quick, but it didn’t!!! With four different extreme sports you can do and about 15 different locations from the Rocket Power television you can visit, this should keep you busy for a long time. The extreme sports you can do are snowboarding, rollerblading, skateboarding, and mountain biking. It took a few days for me to unlock all the secret characters. I thought it would take about a day or so since it was a Nickelodeon game. There are 12 total characters. 8 of them have to be unlocked. It can be difficult to unlock some of the characters which added to the gameplay.
Graphics: 7/10
The graphics for this game are just above average. The FMVs in the game are cool but they don’t compare to the graphics of the FMVs of games such as Final Fantasy 7-9. The characters voices are even in the FMVs for this game (which I thought was pretty cool).
Sound: 4/10
The sound in this game is about average. The music will get boring after playing the game a while. The FMVs in Rocket Power: Team Rocket Rescue have voice overs.
Difficulty: 5/10
The difficulty in this game is harder than you would think IF you try to unlock all the characters. But other than that, it is easy to get through Story Mode and Tito’s Challenge.
Replayability: 8/10
You can have fun playing multiplayer against some of your friends since you can go snowboarding, rollerblading, mountain biking, and skateboarding. This should keep you entertained for hours.
Overall: 7/10
Overall this game exceeded all of my expectations. It has a good multiplayer system. As well as a decent Story Mode. There are four different extreme sports you can do and almost 15 different locations you can go to.
Buy or Rent?:
If I were you, I would buy this game instead of rent it. The game is not expensive and gives you hours of gameplay. If you don’t like extreme sports video games but like the Rocket Power cartoon show, then I would advise you to rent the game first. I doubt you will be disappointed, as it will be a good experience.
