Area 51

"This game is awesome!!!"

First off I would like to say that my overall score is not an average!

Area 51 is the best first person shooter I have ever played. It is also a classic, many people don't like it because the graphics aren't up to par. But i say the heck with that, this game paved the road for first-person shooters. So if you like classic gaming then this game is for you.

I gave this game a ''9'' because of it's originality. It was practically the first of it's kind. It also has a great game structure(How it slowly brings you through the alien infested base). Now i will give my overall opinions about the separate topics.

Controls: 10/10
There isn't much to the controls because all you need to do is aim you gun and fire, but what little controls there are are great.

Sound: 8/10
The sound could be better but it is excellent for a first person shooter game. It does tend to get a little repetitive after a while though.

Gameplay: 10/10
This is my favorite kind of game, A first-Person Shooter, therefore the gameplay is killer. It covers the whole base and you get to blow up all kinds of different aliens and other selected items.

Graphics: 7/10
The graphics could be better for a playstation, but that's okay. I think it's awesome the way that the creators stuck with the arcade graphics. They really had their minds rolling on that one!

Story: 10/10
There is nothing funner than roaming around a place that is legendary and possibly non-existent. The creators of Area 51 had a lot of guts to sell something that contradicts the U.S. Government though. It's all good though because this game has everything from wild aliens to Medical Facilities to Air Bases. It covers every angle that it possibly can when it comes to the secret military base. Hands down the story is completely out of this world :P

Replay: 9/10
The replay value on this game is fantastic due to the fact that it plays just like an arcade game. So every time you play it it seems different.

Buy or Rent: Buy
This game is a must have for PSX or PS2 owners. It is a classic and goes all out on wild imaginative situations. No person who is old enough to own this game should be without it. This game should definitely go down in the video game hall of fame!
