Grandia
Review by Alkaiser
"Grandia isn't just a video game, is it? I tell you I felt as if I was there with the character's from Grandia"
Grandia is a perfect game. I enjoyed every hour of playing it. With around 60 hours of gameplay(for hardcore RPG'ers) Grandia has to be the best RPG ever!
Let me get straight down to it...
Gameplay 10/10
First off, the controlling for Grandia is tight. No glitchy controlling flaws like in some other games created for the PSX. The fun factor for this game is off the scale. It's all around enjoyable, and will keep you coming back for more! Watch it, don't sit too close to the TV, you'll strain you're eyes.
The challenge of Grandia can be considered Difficult, or Impossible. If you're a veteran RPG'er, then you'll be ok, it'll just be a little difficult. However, if you are a newbie, stay away from Grandia! It starts out easy, but as the game progresses, you'll find yourself with multiple broken controllers.
Graphics 10/10
I must say, the graphics for Grandia are stunning. Game Arts really out-did themselves. It shows you can still have amazing graphics with sprite based characters. The illuminating brilliance of the magical attacks and skills is tremendous.
Music 10+/10
Music has to be one of my favorite parts of Grandia, of any game for that matter, but Grandia really took me by suprise. It ain't as good as the themes from Brave Fencer Musashiden, but heck, it's good enough! Music in the town's is even sort of catchy, depending on where you are.
Replay Value 10/10
Some say it isn't worth playing again, and that's usually the case with most traditional RPG's. After defeating the last boss, there isn't much you can do, but it's a real challenge to try and train all your character's to the highest level with magics and weapons, and you don't even need to replay it, just reset and play from your save before the final battle.
Overall 10/10
I love Grandia. I actually had small tears in my eyes when it was over. The storyline grasped my deeply, I couldn't bileave I was actually feeling emotion because a video game ended. Then again, Grandia isn't just a video game, is it? I tell you I felt as if I was there with the character's from Grandia!! Now all we have to do is wait for Grandia 2! Dreamcast better hook me up, and fast!
!!!GO GET GRANDIA, NOW!!!
