WWF War Zone

"This game is old, but it's still great..."

I'm a big wrestling fan, and I got this game in 1998. I don't think it compares to Attitude, and the Smackdown! Series, but it's still a great game. All the review spaces were filled for all the other WWF wrestling games, so I thought I'd do one for Warzone. Here's my review for WWF Warzone...

Graphics: 7/10
The graphics can't be compared to the games of today, but in 1998 they were gold! The wrestlers look decent enough, but the arena looks horrible! That's probably the only bad thing about the graphics.

Features: 6/10
This game has some great features! It has funny commentary, entrance music, and the wrestlers say some funny things. The best mode in this game would have to be the Steel Cage match, it's great!

Story: 7/10
There isn't a story mode, it's called challenge. It's like a battle for the championship, were wrestlers challenge other wrestlers. This mode is cool, but it would've been better with a proper story mode.

Fun Factor: 8/10
I love the modes in this game, especially the cage match. This game has a lot of big names from '98 like, The Rock, Austin, Undertaker, Mankind etc. This game is really fun, and I thought it was a lot better than WWF Attitude.

Controls: 8/10
The controls are decent, and easy to master. The controls in this game are better than Attitude's because they are somewhat different.

Sound: 9/10
Jim Ross and Vince McMahon are the commentators in this game, and that's a good thing. There are 16 wrestlers in this game, all have their entrance music. There's no intro music, but that's probably because of the commentary. Overall this is the best feature.

Overall: 8/10
This game has funny commentary, good entrance music, nice controls, and a decent challenge mode. Overall this game is great! The only thing I don't like about this game, is that it doesn't have intro music, but I guess it's because of the commentary. Overall this game scores a solid 8/10.

Buy/Rent:
Buy! If you're a wrestling fan then you'll love this, if you're not a fan, and you just want a game to play, don't bother.

Final Thoughts:
I'm a big wrestling fan, so I had to get this. For it's time this game was great, but it doesn't compare with the games of today. I still love this game, but I don't play it anymore because I play Smackdown! Shut Your Mouth.
