Chocobo's Dungeon 2

"Get throught the beginning and it is very good."

Chocobo's Dungeon is one game I have eagerly awaited since I first knew of its existence. When I first played this game though I was very disapointed and agrivated with the game though it was nearly impossible and the gameplay was mediocre at best. The beginning really sucked and I tried and tried going up levels until I finally was able to defeat the first dungeon. After this I got new characters and was able to enjoy a village where i could buy supplies and teleport out of dungeons instead of being forced to die. After this the gameplay atleast doubled in fun and the game was much more enjoyable. Finally Chocobo's RPG debut in the US is here and it is really good. Though it may depend on what type of gamer you are so i suggest a rent first.

Graphics 8/10- The graphics are really enhanced 16 bit 2D graphics. The reason for the high score is the beutiful cinemas that have really helped Squares titles for the past 3 years. Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and Anthologies have all been helped by cinemas.

Control/gameplay 8/10- The controls take some getting used to, especially the attacks in this battleode like Secret of Evermore's. The gameplay is very good after the first dungeon but again you may disagree so rent it first.

Sound 8/10- The music is the classic Chocobo melodies. The music is nothing spectacular but the help some especially in the cinenas and boss battles. The SFX aren't really cool chocobo chirbs and voices when you talk to allies.

Story 10/10- Just liek squaresoft ot add an excelent story to keep you intersted and motivated. You Chocobo and your friend Mog are searching the world over for the best of all treasure's. You will make new friends. Gain new abilities, magic and moves. You will find the best treasures by surviving the numerous dungeons. Only you can stop the evil that is soon unvieled that threatens your world.

Replay 5/10- There are some side quests but chances are you will not go on to do them and won't play this game over and over.

Overall 8/10- This game is an aquired taste so rent this title and find out if you like it. This game has good gameplay and an excellent story and of coarse loveable characters. Also if you like chocobo, try Chocobo racing, a very good title indeed.
