"Wicked Fighting Engine for the PSX"

This is on game that recieved poor reviews from many people I know and from the Videogame Magazines that I subscribed to. When I checked GameFAQ's however it was apperent that it was a very controversial subject and Ehrgeiz(Urgyze)recieved some very good reviews. I took into thought Tobal #1 which was mediocre at best, yet the fact that no one should pass up to try Squaresoft games. So I tried it out at a local Gaming seller and I was addicted. The fighting engine was really well done; I mean REALLY WELL DONE! This fighting game is the best I've played on PSX! Yes, so good that I rated it (I usually rate RPG's.) This game is better than Tekken 3! Okay before you readers Mail bomb me and send me death threats; Allow me to back up my case.

Graphics 10/10- These graphics are top notch for the PSX. The colorful arenas fill the room and pull you in. The characters are well defined and much smoother than the virtua fighter look. There are also ending cinemas that are really cool looking and the opening is one of the best I've seen on any game.

Control/Gameplay 10/10- The controls are very good indeed; faced paced and in your face! The action doesn't stop or slow down like in other fighting games. This Fighting game is very well done.

Music 10/10- The voices and SFX are clear, and the music is better than most fighting games. Clear music that is different for every coarse.

Story 8/10- Like in most fighting games, this one's story starts with a tournament. Though unlike Mortal Kombat 4, this game is worth a damn and won't get old. The story goes an ancient tournament where weapons and mystical powers are allowed. The champion of this Tournament recieves the Ehrgeiz! The mystical and powerful weapon with inknown capabilities. There are 11 fighters and only one can win, will it be you?

Replay 19/10- The replay is supported by not only 11 characters with there own endings but there are over 5 secret characters to play as also. There are also many optional things to do like four many games and a full length RPG! If this is not enough to motivate you to at least try this game nothing will.

Overall 9/10- I reitterate, This is the best PSX fighting game! Well one of them anyway. It would have been great with out all the extra stuff, but now its even better. If you haven't tried this game I STRONGLY suggest you test this title. This game is not only for Fighting die-hards, anyone can enjoy this great game.

PS: If you Tekken 3 lovers HAVE to write me, Then go ahead. I strongly suggest you don't because I won't read it so its a waste of time.
