"Very Cool..."

When I first heard about this game coming out I was like ''Woah! Inuyasha on PSX!'' Inuyasha is one cool anime so I anticipated that the game would be the same and it was. I long awaited for the release of this game and I was not disappointed and for the price they put on it you can't get a better deal.

The story takes place in the Feudal Era where a middle school student named Kagome finds the Half-Demon Inuyasha bound to a tree with a sacred arrow. Kagome, being the ancestor of the Priestess Kikyo, had the sacred Shikon Jewel inside of her. But then other demons were after the jewel as well and in the process the jewel was shattered and the shards have been scattered everywhere. Now Inuyasha is on a quest to retrieve the shards and being accompanied by Kagome. Along the way they meet new allies and new enemies they will face.

Graphics - 10/10

What can I say? I just love anime graphics. The intro is awesome with the animation and the in-game graphics are best anime style I have ever witnessed. The colors are nicely done and they don't blend into each other making the screen very clear. There are no slow downs and the character art when they initiate the super specials are really cool. Overall I'd say this game has the best anime graphics in a game I've seen in my whole life.

Sound - 10/10

I love the Japanese Dialogue. I am so glad they kept the original voices. In my opinion, I can't stand English Dubbing. They get old really quick and then really annoying. Dubbing is like one terrible idea to put in games. I'll take Japanese Dialogue w/subtitles or without subs than English Dubbing. There are no slow downs in the sound and all the characters sound like them. I like the character conversations in story mode. It makes me get so into the game.

Controls - 8/10

The controls are really responsive. They do what I want them to do and It doesn't get me frustrated when it doesn't work because it always works. The only reason I gave it an 8 is because they made the character moves really simple. So simple even a child could play it without the manual. It's okay though. I still enjoy the game and I can always raise the difficulty to fit my needs.

Gameplay 10/10

This game will have you playing for days, maybe weeks to come. The overall smoothness of this game is top notch. I wouldn't change a thing except have more complex moves. Too simple will get old fast. Also, mastering new moves will give a greater satisfaction. Also endings could have been nice too. Overall, the gameplay is great. Story is good and the tag mode is cool too. I never played against a friend but I'm sure it's exciting to do so.

Buy or Rent?

I'd say buy it. For $20-$25 you can't get a better game that this. It's fun, exciting, and a new way to look at a fighting game. Don't waste money renting it because even if you finish it in the rental period, I'm sure you are going to miss the game and want to play it some more. Fans of this series probably already have this game and if you are a fan of fighting games you might want to give this game a spin. If you are neither but is interested in playing it, then just play it with your friend if they have it.
