Twisted Metal

"Look out! Its a bird! it's a plane! No wait, it's a....clown?!"

Undoubtedly the game that started the whole Twisted Metal series, and the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Without this game, people would have never known what a car combat game was. This game is truly one of the best. What can be more fun then driving around blowing up your fellow competition?

Intro

The man known as Calypso has made a contest for anyone interested in entering called Twisted Metal. The winner gets granted one wish. This offer has surely attracted a lot of sick, demented, disturbed, anxious, wicked, and blood-hungry opponents you could ever find!

Advantages

The fun in this game will keep you into it for a long, long time. You have to get used to the controllers, but once you do, its cake from there on out. It’s a two player game, and you know those are always fun. Have your buddy grab the other control and enjoy as you can whoop them in the game in multiple stages!

These characters are original and fun to play with. You can either go with the big and slow force like Hammerhead or the small and defensiveness (my preference) like Mr. Grimm. Or you can read between the lines and get anyone else.

The endings are surely a masterpiece. You can have fun spending loads of time on this game trying to beat the game with everyone trying to see the ending for everyone. They’re all good!

The graphics in this game are truly magnificent. I swear you’ll feel like you’re sitting down watching TV thinking “whoa, now this is cool!” The sound also goes very well with the game. In certain stages, it changes as you move into different areas. I love the song they play when you’re all alone; it scares the hell out of me!

The storyline is truly something interesting and worth paying attention to, even if there is a different one for each character. But pay attention closely, some of these characters are even connected in a way. It’s a great game to play over and over weather you’re playing for the storyline or just doing it to bash up you friends.

Disadvantages

You know, the only reason I did the review in this format is to show you…there are no disadvantages! This game truly owns in every way.

Overall

This game may be pretty old, but it’s truly something worth getting! It’s where it all began, the beginning of a wonderful series. It shouldn’t be worth that much right now in stores, so why not? Go head and get the game. I promise you that you won’t be disappointed. But beware, after playing this game, you may acquire a fear of clowns for the rest of your life.
