"Inuyasha in a nutshell"

~I was looking forward to this games release the moment i heard about it.Me bieng the Inuyasha fan that i am, bought it the first day and was slightly dissapointed.~

~Story~ 7/10

I Liked how they did the story mode. They explained how the characters came to be without showing spoilers for those who havent seen the series. On the other hand though..there is no real story mode, before the battle the characters will talk which revelas their relationship to one another and then fight.

~Graphics~ 7/10

For a 2-D game the grapics were a little bland. In alot of ways it seemed rushed..and so does alot of other aspects in the game...or they wer on a very small budget. But they still look very good. Although Inuyasha's sword does look unexpetedly short and small.

~Controls~ 5/10

I don't really like these controlls.I mean they are baaaaaaaad. the characters dont have a up attack, u have to press up then attack.None of them has a attack for all for dierections either,Like with the sqaure button. One person will have back and sqaure and another wont have a attack for that button combo at all.Plus thier movements seem a little sluggish.

~GamePlay~ 7/10

Inuyasha's battles are somewhat fast.Plus it has a little combo system set up, but the combo's tend to be repetitive..your usually doing the same combo over and over. Then you'r oppenet can counter with the ''X'' button, if your oppenet is human than the can keep pressing it until the hit it at the right time to knock u out of it.Also there is some minigames you can play..some are hard..some are easy..it depends on you really. The special Moves are really nice and has a little kind of intro when you hit your oppenet successfully.

~Sound~9/10

One thing i love about this game is the kept alot of the music form the anime.Plus its dubbed, all the characters speak japanese.Only a true anime fan would appreciate that. Also the sound effects are top notch.*nods* one department it looks like they slowed down in.

~MuliPlayer~ 7/10

Another reason i was looking forward to this game was that it had not only versus mataches but teams aslo, like in marvel versus capcom and snk games. The vs matches are good...same issues with the controlles though. Now the Team matches are so-so..mediocre at best. You can call your partner in to hit the enemy with R2, but you have to hit them in order for that to work.It also takes away 1 bar from your team gauge that you build-up during the battle. when the gauge is full you can switch partners. Now i understand why Marvel vs. capcom couldnt handle switching partners on playstation. When you switch partners a screen comes up showing a picture of your part...for about 5 seconds, Becuase its loading thier moves and such.Wich kind of makes the battle a little slow when you and a friend switch when low on health.

~Recap~

Inuyasha would have been a great game if they only took more time into it, and maybe a bigger budget. This game is almost worth the 20 bucks i spent on it.You should only buy this if your a big Inuyasha fan.
