"A good wrestling game with some cool features."

Hmm... I don't really have all that much to say heading into the review. I'm a wrestling fan, as you can probaly guess from the fact I'm reviewing this game. For the record, I'm not going to compare this to Attitude or any other wrestling game that came out after it.

Graphics: 7 out of 10. Decent graphics. The crowd is pretty bad though. In the Create-A-Wrestler Mode, some of the faces and other features look awful.

Sound: 10 out of 10. Easy 10 for having the wrestlers' theme music and the voices of the wrestlers and commentaters.

Story: 2 out of 10. Ehh... what story? The wrestlers want to win the title. I guess. Not really much you can do in terms of a story for a wrestling game. The grudge matches bit is cool, but I had to take one point off from the lame sequences with the lady in the car. Calling the wrestler "rookie" is pretty dumb considering some are veterans of over ten years. Minor thing, but...

Control/Gameplay: 8 out of 10. The control is easy to get the hang of, although some of the moves are tough to pull off. As for Gameplay, when fighting the CPU gets old you can fight a friend or try the Weapons and Cage Matches. Create-A-Wrestler, while it's been improved on and had variations done, was very cool the first time I saw it.

Replay Value: 8 out of 10. I gave it an 8 mostly because this game doesn't get that old. You can keep it interesting in the ways I mentioned before, go through it with your Custom Wrestlers, and go for secret wrestlers and options.

Overall Score: 7, no need to round it. A good wrestling game that raised the standards and introduced the Create-A-Wrestler mode. If you're a wrestling fan you've probaly played it, but even if you're not you can probaly enjoy the game.
