"Good game slightly better for fans"

As a Takahashi (creator of Ranma 1/2 and Inuyasha) fan, I snatched this game up without hesitation. There were some pretty good surprises, with some letdown, anyway, the review.
Presentation: 7/10
All of the great characters are here (except Hiten!), with all of the personality I've come to love. Even Jaken and Myouga have roles! A big plus was that it's in Japanese! Trust me, its better. Mini plots were also created, so it doesn't just seem like senseless fighting. The quality is good, and it has some mini games too. the still pictures comes off a little weird though.

Graphics: 7/10
The most obvious part of the game. In game, they're pretty sharp, but a little lacking in detail. It seems like there was a scaling problem somewhere. the animation is quite good, and its always fun to see a super pulled off. Sesshomaru seems a bit stiff though.

Sound: 9/10
The game is subtitled with Japanese audio. This is a great thing for any anime fan. I really hate dub and like Kappei Yamaguchi. For those who don't know what i'm saying, they kept the original voices. Sometimes its a little offset by the still pictures, as you can't really tell how they're coming across. Honestly, wouldn't you feel crazy listening to a bunch of pictures talking? Also, I was really hoping Fukai Mori (a song from the show) would be there. Oh well.

Gameplay: 8/10
Many are turned off by the simplicity of the fighting system, and at first I was too. But then I noticed how much more people in my house played this instead of SFA3 or KoF. The simplicity draws people in. It makes it a blast to sit around and play. In all, there are 12 characters, each with four moves. You may find yourself wishing for bigger numbers, like i did. There is a feudal mode, where you follow small plots and travel to fight. Since you choose your path, certain events may happen. Vs. mode is exactly what you think it is. Dream match is a tag team, although shallow, fun with more people. You start the game with two people and work to unlock the other 10. I just wish there were more characters.

Overall: 7/10
I really like the tv show, and if you've seen it, you'd understand much more and have a little more fun here. Regardless, its still fun to play. The simple fighting might turn you off, or pull you in. The combos could keep hardcore gamers attention for a while too. I recommend it for the fan, or course, and anyone who's never spent more than an hour in training mode in another game.
