"Where it all starts!"

What I think:
The first thing that I have to say about this game is that it is just great and worth all of the money that you might spend on it. If you buy it in the collectors edition then you will also get Soul Reaver and Fighting Force all for $29.95. (Well at least where I come from). Or you can just get the original if you want or if you can't find the collectors edition.

Storyline: 10/10
The story is just great. A story about a vampire...What could be more interesting? You play as a vampire named Kain, which is the Lord of the Vampires. You have to go through many cities and places and complete many puzzles that let you pass through places you need to go.

Gameplay: 10/10
The gameplay is very good. You will get many assorted weapons to use against zombies, monsters and even mortals. The movement of Kain is great and the swinging of the weapons work really well too. You can also find all kinds of assorted magic attacks such as flay, which demolishes the flesh of humans and other beings. The boss battles are great and I don't think that they could have made them better for the type of game it is.

Graphics: 9/10
The graphics of the game is not all that good but not all that bad either. For a 2D game the graphics are great. The colors of the surroundings are great and movement of Kain is all followed very nicely. It might not be as great in your opinion, but I like it.

Sound/Music: 10/10
The sound is exquisite. The sound comes out clear and you will not have to put your volume up really loud to hear it. Kain's voice works great for the Lord of the Vampires as you will find out if you rent or buy the game.

Replay Value: 8/10
The replay value is what pulled it down. The game is pretty long and confusing. I would only suggest playing through it once, but that’s just me. Depending on what kinds of games you like, you might want to play through it multiple times.

Overall: 9/10
The overall of the game, after you get past all of the downsides of it, is really great. Once you start playing the game, you will not want to stop until you get to the end. The ending of the game might even surprise you.
