Review by Gigatek

"As good as they come."

Pac-Man World was one of the very first games I had played for the Playstation. My uncle came over to my house one day and asked me to beat this game for him (mainly because he couldn't beat it himself).

I played for a while, and although it's a hard game, I still liked it, and was dying to play more. Finally, after a few weeks or so, I beat the game. Afterwards, I wanted to rent the game at Rogers Video because it was so great.

The graphics are awesome, compared to many others. You won't find any glitches or much of that stuff in this game. It's a 3D game, so you can move Pac-Man anywhere you want. Most of the stages are rather big, so it'll be a long time before you finish the game. There are many enemies in Pac-Man World, and they're not only ghosts, but skeletons, bumper cars, and a whole lot more!

The control is also very nice. Pac-Man's back with some new moves too, and can even swim!! Basically, it's the original arcade made into a 3D adventure. At various points of the game you'll meet up with ghosts and munch them up (along with the pac dots). If that isn't enough, there's a special part of the game that will allow you to play the original Pac-Man arcade, with 3D graphics!

The sound effects are fantastic. You can hear them well, and they suit the game very nicely. The soundtrack isn't really that memorable, but it fits the game stages perfectly!

Although the game doesn't explain the plot in words, the storyline is simple and quite easy to understand. Pac-Man, unexpectedly, has a family in this game, which he doesn't have in the arcades. Oh well.

This game is difficult the first time you play it, but after playing it several times, you'll get used to the control and play like an expert!

You'll be playing this game for quite a while, either exploring the amazing stage designs or unlocking new mazes. Collecting fruits allow you to open fruit doors, which lead into the Pac-Man mazes, of where you'll battle ghosts while eating pac-dots to save your life!

Overall, Pac-Man World is a great game. If you happen to stumble across this, don't hesitate to buy it. You migh want to rent it first just for safety, but I strongly recommend that you do buy it. It's well worth it if you do, and it will last a very long time.
