Samurai Shodown: Warriors Rage

"Very disappointing"

Is this really Samurai Spirit? I would wish this game wasn't because it really ruins the reputation and everything I stand for in the Samurai Spirit series. But we must face reality, this is one horrible game!

Graphics-Its only moderately okay. The beginning intro done in CG art is absolutely astonishing! But everything else about the game goes the opposite direction. The characters and background are horribly rendered. It is best compared to Toshinden 1 but even worse! The fatal mistake here is that the game should have been kept in 2D. The sprites and background was so beautifully done for Samurai Spirit 4, this should have left it like that!

Gameplay-One word; slow! For most of the moves the characters have, it takes at least a second for them to dish it out! Not only that, the command moves interferes too much when trying to do combos (though there practically is no such thing as a combo, probably why there is no rush counter). Besides that, all the characters have about the same moves.

If ever considering on buying a Samurai Spirit game, never, and I repeat, never buy this game! Not only will you be disappointed, you'll also waste your hard earn cash which you could have bought something better instead. I made the mistake in buying this game, that is why I write this review to warn you before you make the wrong choice!
