Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories
Review by yugioh8767
"Like Yu-Gi-Oh the series? Try the Game."
Ok, this game is really good. Not just because I am a big Yu-Gi-Oh! fan. It is good because I love how the card game goes and it could not be easier to learn. There are magic, monster, trap and ritual cards. If you look through the manual, you can find out what each of the different cards do and what colors they are. All you have to do is beat the other persons card by having a higher attack power. Now on with the Review.
Storyline 7/10
The story is pretty good. One reason I did not like about it was that it did not follow the T.V. series at all. That is also a thing that pulls the storyline back up because you are not doing exactly what happens in the series. Basically you duel many people to stop the strongest cards in hopes of being able to beat the evil person in a duel. You have to try to defeat him before he awakens a dark and evil source. Of course that won\'t happen though. You know he will be able to summon him. Overall it is a pretty good story though.
Gameplay 9/10
The gameplay is very good. The only thing that really pulls down the gameplay is that it gets really repetitive. Each duel gets harder and harder as you move on. If you use codes, then it will get repetitive even faster because you will have strong cards from the start and you will be able to beat almost everyone very easily. I would recommend that you do not use codes, but that is just me.
Graphics 9/10
The graphics of this game is excellent. Maybe not by just the appearance of the card, but if you summon a monster and watch him doing his attack in 3D by pressing the square button to attack. The attacks are all very nicely done. The movements of the monsters are also not a put down. A lot of the attacks are really amazing and are worth the time to watch attacks from some like: Blue Eyes White Dragon, Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, Gate Guardian, Black Luster Soldier and any of the fusions of Red Eyes Black Dragon.
Sound/Music 10/10
The sound is really nice even though it is all music. The music might get annoying at times, but all you have to do is turn down your volume and you should do good. The music comes out where you do not have to put the volume up loud. When selecting a card you will also hear and it will not be really low where you will not be able to hear it.
Replay Value 6/10
This is where the game lacks a lot. You probably will not want to play it over again unless you are trying to get all of the cards, or most of them at least. But other than collecting cards, the replay value is very low because there is nothing more to do. Even if you want to collect the cards, then the dueling will get repetitive and straight up boring.
Overall 8/10
The overall rating of the game is an 8. The sound really pulled it up and so did the gameplay and graphics. If you like the T.V. series or the real card game, then this game is almost perfect for you. That is if you don\'t mind dueling over and over.
Buy or Rent
Depends if you like the card game or not. If you do then it is a good game for you. If not, then perhaps rent it to try it and see what you think.
