"Digimon that rumble!"

This is the review for Digimon Rumble Arena or Digimon Tamers: Battle Evolution

When I played this game I couldn't believe how great it was and there were no slow downs and its in 3-d on the playstation!

Introduction-
The digimon games have been my favorite, but when I heard Bandai was make this game I thought to myself imagine all those fights with digimon you would never see happen in the show, happen in the game, like Agumon against veemon or guilmon or renamon against gatomon!

Story-
Well normally with fighting games the story isn't a great thing not like rpgs where the game revolves around the story, but with this game you really don't have a clue at why are the digimon and there tamers are fighting the boss Reapermon he never appeared in the 3 seasons,so its not a good story.

Gameplay -
I see Bandai was trying to make a kinda (super mash bros melee) game, but the gameplay is still different from it. During battle your digimon can digivolve into their mega forms and have new attacks and also a finishing technique
,only mega digimon have finishing techniques and only rookies can digivolve. The game covers digimon and their tamers from season 1,season 2 and season 3.

You start with nine characters unlocked and there are 14 secret characters to unlock. Also to through into the mix of gameplay ,elemental specialty plays a big part in the game. Example if augmon(fire) use his technique pepper breath against renamon(nature)there would be double damage done to renamon or at least more than normal. Also the arenas you fight in have specialties as well. There are also cards and items that appear in the arena to help you.

The controls of the game are quit simple,no need to memorize combos or anything,X for jumping,O and triangle for techniques 1 and 2,square for doing normal combos and finally R-1 to digivolve and to use a mega's finishing technique.

Graphics/Sound
The graphics are pretty good for a playstation game and there are no slow downs during any part of the game. The best part about graphics in this game is when the digimon digivolve and a colored aura comes over them and then it disappears and they are in their mega form. The finishing techniques also look good. For sound it's not bad and fits the mood of the levels, their is also that lady from season 3 when they digivolve she say DIGIVOULTION just like in the show she says it in the game.

Play Time/Replayability
Well it will take a while to unlock all the characters and get all the mini games, but once you do that there isn't anything else left to do expect play 1 player if you are trying to get a high score. But its definitely a great 2 player game.]

Story-4
Gameplay-9
Graphics-9
Sound-8
Replayability-9

Final Recommendation -
Well if you are a digimon fan i would say buy this game its quit good, but if you are new to digimon and don't have clue then i would say rent it and if you like it buy it!!
