NASCAR 98
Review by JVSlunt
"EA Sports brings out one of the best simulations of all times."
Well, my favorite sports company is EA Sports, because if you want simulation games, they have them. Such as the Madden series, golf, hockey, and this time racing. I know this is an older game but this is a must-have racing game for you Nascar Lovers.
Gameplay...Nascar '98 offers a season mode and a two-player arcade mode. The thing that is cool is that you don't have to sit on your butt for three hours playing one race. You can tone down the race length to about 3% of the normal laps. But, I really don't see a point in season mode, because running around in circles in pointless.
Story...Ummm, this is a simulation. There is no story.
Audio/Video...Well the country music soundtrack gets annoying because there are only 6 songs. The announcer Bob Jenkins has a video skit at the beginning of each season mode race, saying that he is in a part of the country like Watkins Glen, but he uses the SAME BACKGROUND! The little speech affect while racing and the annoying music make users want to rip the speakers out and turn on the radio.
Replayability...As of all simulations, they get boring after awhile. If you are looking for a good alternative to Destruction Derby, here is your chance.
To buy or to rent...Why rent it, when you can buy it for $20 bucks.
