Inuyasha: A Feudal Fairy Tale

"A must have for fans of the series!"

If you are not aware of this, Inuyasha is a great anime series made by the great manga artist Rumiko Takahashi. She is also the creator of Ranma 1/2 and Maison Ikkoku.Some of her anime has been made into games like this one. There are many different modes to choose from at the main menu. The most important is Feudal Fairy Tale which is the main story. This mode has many fun parts in it like collecting jewel shards from your enemies to face the final boss,Naraku. The game includes two players in all modes except Feudal Fairy Tale.

Gameplay-10/10

Inuyasha's gameplay is amazing! It is simple yet challenging at the same time. The attacks have great variety from simple punches to special attacks made famous from the series. Combos are easy to perform and can easily be brought to special attacks. There is a tag team mode where you can switch between two characters at once which is lots of fun. Another cool thing is depending on who you are fighting you might perform different throws. There are also a couple of fun mini games to complete. If you complete them you get parts of the sacred jewel.

Story-7/10

There really isn't much of a story(Most fighting games don't have a story anyway).During the story screen they speak in Japanese, but it has English text, so you can understand what they're saying. I found some parts really funny.

Sound and music-8/10

The music is very good. If you ever watched the series you have some idea what the music is like.The sound ranges from punches to special attacks sounds. I would say the sound is good but not perfect.

Graphics-10/10

The graphics are just amazing. They are drawn just like the TV show and act pretty much the same.The colors are nice and bright and are simply eye candy. The backgrounds in the level are pretty good too.

Control-9/10

The controls are easy to learn and simple to master. They vary from counter blocking to special attacks to plain attacks. It should take about 15 minutes to learn.

Fun Factor-9/10

This game is really enjoyable. I replayed it many times and it never got boring. The characters and attacks always were different in each battle so you never knew what to expect. This creates variety in the fighting.

Rent or Buy

I say buy. It is a really enjoyable game which can be played over and over again. It will be worth the $20 to buy it.
