Review by Dizzy Anonymity

"Not even Ms. Cleo could predict this failure...."

Introduction:
I used to watch Celebrity Deathmatch on MTV quite often. I thought it was a decent show, so when I seen that they were making a game based on the show, I got excited. But to my dismay, the game does not live up to the hype.

Graphics: 6/10
The graphics are sub-par for a Playstation One game. The characters are undetailed, and there is a lot of clipping. Characters clip through each other and through the ring regularly. This game looks a lot like a fighting game that would have came out about the middle of Playstation One’s “life”; it looks too good to be considered a first generation title, yet not good enough to be considered a new title.

Music/Sound: 1/10
This game has not only the worst voice acting ever, it has some of the lamest lines. None of the characters are voiced by their real life counter part, except for the “non-real” people like the alien, werewolf, etc. The music is nothing special. Neither adding nor subtracting from the game.

Story: 1/10
This game has no story what-so-ever. You pick a character and then go through fighting the other characters. They don’t tell you why you’re fighting, and there isn’t even an ending for you to see if you beat the game.

Gameplay: 5/10
The gameplay is decent at best. The game is more like a wrestling game in that you do mainly wrestling moves to your opponent, but it’s more like a fighting game in that you can’t pin your opponent, and have to rely on beating him/her to death. Each character has almost all of the same moves. Yes, every character has the same move set. There may be one or two moves different, but that is all. Each character also has two fatalities, yet they are highly unimpressive. Even War Gods had better fatalities than this.

Replayablility: 1/10
The main game consists of you picking a character then you have to fight all 11 characters in a row. After you do this, all characters are unlocked, so you don’t have to replay that mode ever again. The only thing left for you to do is…. well, that’s it. There is nothing more. You can just keep replaying the game over and over again if you think it is fun. The only thing that you get for beating it again is the button combination for another fatality.

Overall: 4/10
This game will only last you maybe an hour or two, so don’t rush out and spend lots of money on it. I would suggest only getting it if you find it extremely cheap, or if you are a die-hard Celebrity Deathmatch fan.
