Impact Racing

"The game ends up being neither in both worlds!!!"

Impact Racing is a perfect example of killing two birds with one stone but ends up having killing nothing. The developer tries to be creative, trying to have the best of both worlds for Impact Racing, but eventually, the game ends up being neither in both worlds. [Hmm...confused??? Never mind!]

Impact Racing can be considered a mix between a shooter and a racer. In most such cases, the game is most likely to suffer heavily. Why? Talk about racing games. It definitely doesn't belong to that category. There's no power slides like any other normal racing games would have. Talk about the thrill and sensation of speed. It doesn't have. A shooter game? Anyone mentions Wipeout??? It doesn't have the intense weapons-based competition that Wipeout has.

So, what's the gameplay like? Choose a car first and then start driving. Lasers are mounted on the front of the car and the main objective is to drive along a track, racing against time and shoot at other cars. Along the way, you can pick up other weapons like mines, missiles and so on. If you manage to perform well such as destroying enough cars within a given time, you will proceed on to the next level. Simple to understand???

The graphics and music are simply average. The sound effects are even worse. No authentic sound. It doesn't even sound like laser shooting or a loud explosion when it is supposed to be so. Generally, there's really nothing much for me to worth talking about them as the gameplay is totally bad.

So, what's the bad thing about Impact Racing? After playing for a few minutes, you will realise that all the while, the game just simply involves driving and shooting. Definitely, not Wipeout, not even one-third close to it. You can be assured that the game gets bored easily in this way. What is left inside the game is neither a racer nor a shooter, but with mediocre results.

Furthermore, the entire presentation looks very terribly done. After playing it for ten minutes or so, i still don't know why or what must i shoot. Perhaps, i don't play enough of it. Anyone cares to correct me? The entire gameplay looks rather confusing to me and the control, needless to say, is really terrible.

Overall, don't even think of renting it. It is totally crap. There's really nothing good about Impact Racing. The only thing that i can say to the developers is, ''this is a VERY SUPER good try.'' [Get what i mean! Actually, it means it's a failure. Yeah, i am being sarcastic!!!] My advice is stay away from it as far away as possible. You will be disappointed if you don't.
