"Capcom has NAILED the Versus Series on PS!"

Well, Capcom has done it again. I bought Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter a year ago, and was overall impressed by the job Capcom did. The characters were all there, and most of the animation was retained. While the true Tag Team mode could only be used in Crossover Mode, it was still very fun, and hell, that's what matters, right?

Enter Marvel Vs. Capcom. Capcom has pretty much ported this over perfectly from the Arcade. The only hitches are the missing frames of animation in the characters -- however, it still moves at a blistering pace, and is the penultimate Vs. Series title. That said, let's get into it...

Graphics - 8.0
Capcom has pulled off the impossible with Marvel Vs. Capcom. A year ago, Capcom DID say that Marvel Vs. Capcom was an impossibility on PlayStation, and it has turned out to be an even better game than MSHvsSF. The animation for the most part is all there, and the bigger Supers (like Proton Cannon) all look great.

Sound - 7.5
The grunts, groans, and trademark calls are all there and present, but the music is a mixed batch -- it sounds like elevator music and is not all that good.

Balance - 6.0
This is where Capcom dropped the ball. Unfortunately, you can mash buttons in this game and actually WIN against a lot of more-skilled opponents. And almost half of the cast is overpowered in some way -- Chun-Li has an incredibly powerful air Super that she can combo into with a result of 50% energy gone in three hits, Wolverine and Strider players can mash buttons and totally KILL an average opponent, and Ryu has such a gigantic myriad of options to choose from in battle (he can change into Ken and/or Akuma at anytime!) and easy attacks, he can just dominate. Winning with guys like Venom, Jin, and Captain America can be incredibly tough at times.

Well, overall, MvC is an exellent game to play, and a worthy end to the Vs. Series on PlayStation 1. Have fun.
