Inuyasha: A Feudal Fairy Tale
Review by Squall28
"It's okay I guess"
Introduction
This game is obviously based on the manga and anime. This fighting game has many things from the anime, and is a pretty general fighting game.
Gameplay
The controls are pretty easy to get use to, and the characters have some nice actions such as counter guarding. Plus, it is also nice to use moves characters use in the show. However, most of the things I just mentioned are in pretty much any game based on a show or comic. Getting jewel shards add a little spice to the game, and so does Kagome's backpack. The backpack has mini-games, music, images, and all that good stuff. The mini-games in this game are rather amusing. There is also a Dream Fairy Tale where you can have a tag-team fight.
Each character has only four special moves, and each of these four moves are incredibly easy to use. I thought it would be fun because they are so easy to use, but no it just makes the game boring. The fighting for this game is okay, but nothing that special besides the Jewel Shards. The moves are also out of place. For example, if you seen the show, you know that Inuyasha's wind scar is extremely destructive. Well in the game, it's a
a regular special move and doesn't do that much damage.

Story
Nothing that special. You don't go through the actual Inuyasha storyline. There's only dialogue between characters before they fight. The good thing though is that the dialogue relates to the anime, and of course it is nice to see Inuyasha characters.

Graphics/sound The graphics are great. The game is two dimensional, and the characters look exactly like they do in the show. Many images of the characters are shown. In fact, there are so many images that there is a little scrap book. The only thing I want to ask for is some scenes from the show and more animation for character's super special attacks.
The music for this game is pretty nice. There is also a nice feature in Kagome's backpack that let you listen to it. The actual sounds for this game are great as well. Great similarity to the show. The only problem is the voices are still in Japanese. Some people may think this is a plus because they prefer the Japanese version of Inuyasha with subtitles. The problem is there are no subtitles for the GREAT lines said during battle, and even if there was it won't be the same as actually hearing it. I know they are great because they tell you what they say in Kagome's backpack. So this is a downside, unless you understand Japanese.
8/10
Playtime/Replayibility
The box gives what it promises, hours of gameplay. I finish this game in a week and I'm a slow gamer, playing games nice and slowly. It was during a school week, too. Playing the game over again will get old after a while. It's pretty much the same short thing over and over again. The fighting gets boring too because it is so un-unique due to the fact that each character only have four easily.
3/10
Final Recommendation
Definitely rent. Renting will give you enough time to enjoy the game to the fullest by unlocking everything, beating the game, and a little free time to try stuff. If you buy it you will get tired of it after a week or so.
