"The best sports game ever... for PSX."

Well, well, well... I'm not a big fan of PSX, though I do like it a lot, but I hate all PSX sports games... All sports games for that matter except wrestling. I don't even really like skateboarding mainly because I suck at it. But THPS is the greatest PSX game, let alone sports game. How does everything go individually in my book? Let's find out...

CONTROL: 8
The control in this game has been called flawless by all reviewers. Me, however, think it is good, but not as good as say WWF Wrestlemania 2000, the greatest sports game ever. But it is good. The button commands are simple, but I, for some reason, can never eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeever get more than 2 moves done at a time with the exception of grinding. It still is good, but points are deducted because, well... I CAN'T DO ANYTHING! The highest I've ever gotten in 2 minutes was 20,000 points, showing, I could never make it in Career Mode (I only play this at a friend's house...). Overall, control deserves an 8 in my book.

STORY ETC: 9
All I can say is well... you skateboard everywhere. There is no story, but since I love this game so much, I'll give it a 9.

SOUND: 10
This game is great when it comes to sound. Every song comes in crystal clear and skips one tenth of the time, maybe less. The songs are great anyways, ''Here and Now,'' ''I Thought You Wanted to be My Friend,'' and ''Jerry was a Racecar Driver'' being my favorites. The sound effects are great and couldn't sound better in real life. I thought it could use some voice overs in it, not too much, but after seeing Tony Hawk act in The Tom Green Show, I thought no voice overs was a good idea. The sound deserves a 10.

GRAPHICS: 9
The graphics in this game are really good. The best I've seen on PSX which has some pretty crappy graphics 75% of the time. But since this isn't N64, I give it a 9. The textures are good, and character designs are perfect, and as a matter of fact, I thought these graphics were N64 quality.

That's my review. I love this game like a son, and this review shows it. What is my final verdict? The best sports game ever... for PSX.
