"Most. Underrated. Series. Ever."

Well, I just reviewed Vigilante 8, now I am reviewing the sequel, Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense. Basically, around the time this game came out, 989 Studios was out butchering the Twisted Metal series with Twisted Metals 3 and 4. So, what I do not understand, is why Vigilante 8 flopped so much, while Twisted Metal thrived through those abominations...I guess the name carries it over crappy games. Oh well, back on subject. Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense is the sequel to Vigilante 8 (duh). Basically, if you only are reading this one instead of the Vigilante 8 review, this is a vehicle combat game. Meaning vehicles do..combat! Well, could the sequel keep up the punch that the first delivered? Read on.

Gameplay: 9/10
The gameplay as I described above, is vehicle combat. Basically you try and destroy the other vehicles and you become the victor. Pretty simple, but I love fighting the mindless fight.

Graphics: 10/10
The graphics in 2nd Offense, surpass easily the graphics from Vigilante 8. Everything is a lot shinier, too, especially the bus (the name of it escapes me). And well, yeah. What did you expect, the sequel to have worse graphics than the first? Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but they surpassed them here. And also, I am very happy to say in this one, the game did not crash on me. That is right, the one thing that haunted the first one was removed. Good job, proud of you Luxoflux.

Rent or Buy:
This game is probably even rarer than the first one. As I ranted about earlier, I do not understand why the series just flopped like it did, I would have thought it would have strived. Oh well, guess I thought wrong (first time in 18 years!). But seriously, if you can find this game, definitely pick it up, and even if you want to rent it, as I said, good luck finding it, because this game is rare. Not nearly as rare as some titles, but nonetheless, rare.

My Final Word:
My final word on Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense, is...the game is pure fun. If you enjoy fighting the mindless fight, with machine gun armed vehicles, definitely check this one out. If you want something to pass the time until a title you are really looking forward to comes out, or if you want a game to play between paychecks, look around and see if you can find this. It probably is pretty cheap, but it is easily worth any price tag on it.
