WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game
Review by jumbojim
"A waste of money, tsk tsk tsk"
Well, this was my first game for the Playstation. My parents accedently got me the game, when they were suppose to buy WWF In Your House, which is much better than this crap.
Graphics:
What can you say about them? They're too plain, nothing special about it that makes you say, ''Wow, that's good graphics!'' The characters are 2D, and look like paper cutouts pasted onto a backround. The fans shouldn't even be in the game, because they look like a blur of heads from outer space. The only good thing is that the characters are actually in proportion, like Yokozuna is a lot bigger than Shawn Michaels.
Gameplay:
Wrestling, that's about what this game is, except it's arcade wrestling. There's only 8 characters, which got me bored immediatly. The gamemodes include a one on one match, or against a friend, intercontinental belt season, and world champion belt season, and a royol rumble. I beat all of them within the first day by myself.
Controls:
This might be the best part of the game. I got used to them in my first match. Although, I don't see the difference between kick and super kick. There's a combo meter that goes up, and when it's full, you can pull up to a 32 hit combo. This took me awhile to learn.
Difficulty:
I really didn't see the differnece between the difficulty levels, they seemed like all the same. Even on when it's 3 computer players against you, you'll probably still win. You fight one of them, while the other 2 just stand there, looking at the fans.
Fun Factor:
This game is fun, if it was your very first Playstation game. When I played WWF Attitude and Smackdown, I flushed this game down the toilet! The cool thing about the fights, is that you can fight with weapons, like the Undertaker hits you with a tombstone, or Yokozuna takes out a bucket and hits you with it.
Buy/Rent
If your that desperate for an old, wrestling game for the PSX, I would rent it. The game keeps you into it, for about 2 days, which is how long you should rent it.
