"I think I have motion sickness"

Jet Moto...ahhhhh yes, high speed racing with insane courses. Gotta love this kind of game just for the pure pleasure of kicking the crap out of it. But is it just me? Or did this game only get faster instead of mellower?

-Graphics {9/10}-

Amazing. They took out the pixalated bikes and put in some kick butt machines with some nicely rendered riders to go along with it. The stages that the races take place on, are killer to the eyes, immense and fully detailed, they make me wonder if they can only get better, or stay at what they are now.

There is hardly a break-up to be seen anywhere in the game, and there are no longer 20 other bikes to clutter up the screen. All of this makes the game's frame rate skyrocket upwards. As everything is blazing by, it's hard to keep your eyes focused on anything in particular.

-Sound {9/10}-

Good bumpin' soundtrack, along with some great sound effects. This is a giant leap from the days of Jet Moto 1, where everything just sounded the same. From the turbo boost to the grappling sound, it all comes together while you're playing.

The sound of rushing water, and the sound of your bike crashing through the waves of a river, it's mind-blowing, and sounds like you're really in the driver's seat with a set of headphones.

-Gameplay {9/10}-

Racing, high speed, whiplash induced racing. The tracks that open up make this a slamming game to play. It'll test your reflexs to the max, and you'll find that the hours will slip by while you're racing. It's hard to find a game that makes you do this anymore.

Very few games have the type of draw, and the type of game mechanics that this one shoots out, right down to the actual physics of the game. Timing your turns, your flips, and your turbo boosts. Are you going to make it to the finish line? Or become a smear on the rocky outcrops of the canyon wall?

-Control {9/10}-

This follows right on the heals of physics. The heavier your bike, the harder it is to turn a sharp corner. The lighter your bike, the harder it is to not slam into the wall on the tight corner.

It takes some time, and some effort to get the bike that you use, to do the things you want it, and, in most cases, need it to do. The analog control on this helps...but not by much. You'll probably use the regular digital option when playing, it's easier to master that way.

Think of Gran Turismo, and you'll have a good idea of what this game is like in terms of control...including the power sliding.

-Overall {9/10}-

Jet Moto the way it should be, fast, insane, and a blast to watch, move, listen to, and play. 989 Studios did a great job with this title, and you'll spend alot of time playing it to unlock the secrets the game has to hold for you. If you're a racing fan, you should definately make this a part of your PSX library...if you're a part time racer, a weekend rental will sate your appetite for turbo destruction.
