Brave Fencer Musashi

Review by aznkkidd

"Awesome Game!"

First off I own the Square Millenium Collection version. It is very nice. (all Japanese of course) It comes with the game cell phone holder/pouch and a set of small minku toys. Didn't cost me much, bought it brand new. The game when I first played it, was awesome. My first impression was good. I play this game from time to time and still have fun. So if you like action games then read on.

Gameplay 9/10
Awesome. Fighting, the quests are great. the only problem for me was the sleep /tiredness thing. But it is innovative. What's cool about this game is that when you are low on health and in the middle of forest or away from town you just wait. bp turns into hp. I also liked the way you can take enemy skills via Lumina. Playing an import version the game is made longer by you trying to find your way around. So i have resorted to using a guide to help me. What limits this game from being a gem is its length, pretty short by my standards, but nothing to dramatic. Some down falls are playing with your toys, not much fun.
This game is very fun to play

Length 8/10
This is the games only downfall. The game can be beaten in a short amount of time. It took me a while because i play the imported version. Chapters can be beaten in one sitting, but hey its still a fun game. I'm sure you would just play it all over again later

Graphics 8/10
I wasn't too impressed but hey this was made a while ago and is pretty good.
The graphics aren't and eyesore though. Everything is pretty crisp. Shows the potential of the Playstation. By todays standards though the graphics are outdated. But graphics aren't everything.

Music 8/10
To me the music wasn't groundbreaking. but it makes for good background music while you play. But its nothing you'd want to turn down while your playing. It really sets the mood on where ever your at. But i still enjoy this game.

Replay Value 9/10
not really any replay value at all. but finding your way around (especially when playing an import) is very challenging. This would be a good game too play again after while has gone by.

Controls 9/10
I very much enjoy the battle system. though a little choppy you learn to love it.
What I don't like to much is when you try to jump over a gap of water, then fall into the water...
Walking around is great though, also its neat when he gets tired and moves slowly or fall asleep.
Controls are easy to learn and simple to use. No complicated combo learning or anything of that nature.

Overall 9/10
Awesome game. If you have a chance play it if you like action/adventure. If you don;t favor this style of game then at least try it out. It is a good game. though on the short side, it is still fun. I would consider this a gem.
Rent or buy?
Buy it for sure. If you can find it.
