"If you've never played FFV or FFVI before, this is for you!"

Square has done it again! They have amazed me with another one of their games. Some people may say that the graphics are terrible, there is terrible slowdown, and long loading times! Well, let me set the record straight.

GRAPHICS: 7/10
Yes, you see right. I gave the graphics 7/10. Even though they are SNES-type graphics, you can see that they were untouched. Some people say they suck for X reason, but trust me, these are top-knotch graphics for the time. The only gripe I have with these graphics are the ones in FFVI are very pixellated. In my opinion, the graphics in FFV are better. One more thing about the graphics: The FMVs are unneccesary. Most people usually bypass them. I know I do.

SOUND: 10/10
Mr. Uematsu does it again! He creates a game with awesome music. The sound is good, too. Just the thing is some of the slowdown makes the sound out-of-sync. Normally, that would take some of the sound score off, but trust me, it's not that bad. And I think it's good that they changed some of the sounds. I used to own FFVI and lemme tell you, the sounds weren't that good. But now that they've PSX-ized the sound, they sound much better.

GAMEPLAY: 6/10
This is where the game gets a little skimpy. The gameplay in FFV is OK, with no noticable slowdown (Man, those people that gave it a 3 are probably hyper or something to say that it's so slowed down...) but FFVI is very sluggish in the battles. Also, there is that split-second loading time every time you enter a battle/new room, but it isn't THAT bad.

CONTROL: 10/10
I absolutely have no problems with the control! It is fine, and those people that say it's bad obviously don't know how to use a PSX controller.

OVERALL: 7/10
A great game, but if you own the SNES version of FFVI, then I recommend you emulate FFV. Otherwise, this is a sound investment! Adios!
