"It's so good,they made a sequel system!!"

Before i review I would like to say I'm not comparing the PSX to the N64 in my review even though in my opinion the PSX is better.

INTRO:
I first got the Sony Playstation(PSX)in December 16,my birthday. Then came Christmas and I got FF7 and 2xtreme.I loved both of them, but I immediately played FF7 first. At that time FF7 was the biggest news in video gaming and I was very eager to play it.This is how I was introduced to Playstation and it is still my favorite and main system I play as of 4/9/00.

REVIEW:
I don't know how the Playstation runs or how much memory it contains or anything like that, but what I'm going to tell you is how I feel about the PSX.I love the SNES.And I thought the next Nintendo system was going to be like it,but it wasn't.Playstation reminds me more of SNES.The controller is very similar to SNES with exception to L2 and R2 and the shape buttons. The only thing not related to SNES is the titles the PSX has.Sony Playstation contains numerous amounts of titles, good and bad. When I had a PSX I was too busy with FF7 to worry abou games before '97.After beating it I wanted to see what else the PSX had to offer. I was also and still curious about the new titles that PSX would have, because the great thing about the PSX is that it
is full of surprises.Great games come out all the time and sometimes you get crammed up with too many good games. The possibilities of playing fun games on the PSX is endless.
That is the great thing about the PSX.The games.I don't even know how many there is now,but I guarantee you a majority of those titles are fun.
PSX is a 32-bit system and some games look great and some games are ugly. Many titles lately look way better than 32-bit like FF8 and WWF smackdown. Those games are all good.
The good thing about Playstation is that all its games are CDs.That means good sound quality and you can see videos. As I was saying in the beginning I'm not going to compare N64 and PSX,but I'm going to give you one example of how movies are good in a game. For both PSX and N64 there is a game called Sub-Zero MK mythologies. In the PSX version there is a movie developing the story and in N64 you have to see pictures and read instead of hear what they actually say.I liked how the PSX could play games and CDs.It's like paying $150(now $100 I think) for a video game system and a CD player. Some people say that pixels make the game look ugly. Most,if not all,of the games on the PSX have pixels and 3d polygons and a lot of the titles are not ugly.I don't think graphics make the game, the gameplay does and that's exactly what a lot of titles give you on the PSX,great graphics and great gameplay.
The memory card is a new thing than other systems. In most games you have to save(unless your crazy),but instead of saving on the game there is a memory card which your game data gets saved onto. The memory card is set above your controller and two memory cards can be inserted on your Playstation. Each memory card holds 15 spaces. Some memory cards are special and hold more than the normal memory card. Most games usually take up 1 space, but some games can take up to 10 spaces. Most RPGs take up 2 or 1 space. The memory card thing isn't much of a big deal and if you want to get rid of a save file you can push power when there is no disc in there and just delete the file. You have a lot of control over your memory card and what you want in it.
The games on PSX are mostly RPG and action. The thing about Playstation is that it is more for teenagers an adults than children, but it is for the children too.Just not as much.Ever since FF7 has been out PSX is considered the system of RPGs.Again I'm not comparing both systems in terms of which one is better, but I used to say this to my friends.''If you want to play adventure games than buy an N64,but if you want to play action or fighting or RPG games than get a Playstation.''That is kind of true, because a lot of games on the PSX are fighting or RPG or action. There are a lot of games that aren't RPG/fighting or action on the PSX.There are some puzzle, some strategy and even some dancing games. The variety of games is really great, because you will never be bored unless you've beaten every game on the PSX(I don't even know if anyone has even played every game on the PSX).
There are many great titles on the PSX such as the Final Fantasy series,Resident Evil series,Syphon filter 1 & 2,Suikoden 1 & 2,Tony Hawk Pro skater,Jet moto series,WWF games, many games by Square,Street fighter series and more.
There's too much games to name but those are a few games that are really great. Also about Square,I think Square and Capcom are the greatest video game companies.

OVERALL:(10/10)
I love the Playstation and can't wait for the american release of Playstation 2.The Playstation may be the greatest sytem ever and in my book it is.Hopefully PS2 will continue to bring the greatness that the PSX has. There are still titles coming out every day for the PSX and it may never stop.Thank You Sony!
