"The best game to buy, er, maybe rent."

Have you ever bought a magazine or read a review and see your most anticipated game get a terrible review? I'm not here to get you down, but Star Wars Episode I Jedi Power Battles is not the best game out there. Here's a couple of reasons why:

Graphics: The graphics seem pretty good while your playing, but once you look at the game you can see some flaws. One thing, the droids get choppy while the battles get intense. Second, the character. When your up close, the graphics seem great, really no problem. When you see the character far away though, he/she looks wierd and discombobulated. You really can't tell when playing though. The background however, balances out the character design. When you see smoke and steam, it actually looks like smoke and steam! In the other Star Wars Episode I game, it would look like cardboard placed on top of the object. Overall, the graphics were pretty good.

Sound: The sound in this game was very good! All the songs from the movie are here. Also, the lightsabers, the animals, everthing has great sound. The voice, well thats a different story. It gets to repeative in the game when you pick up items. The music in the game was very good and so was the special effects sound.

Gameplay: First off, i would like to say that this game is 1 TO 2 PLAYERS!!!!!!! This was the part I liked. The game is a LOT funner when you play with a friend. It's also a LOT easier witha friend. Thats the part I liked, here's the part I don't like: Jedi Power Battles, seems this would be a great fighting game, right? NO!!! Sure there's a lot of fighting, but there are puzzles to be solved! There's jumping puzzles, electric puzzles, even puzzles to fight people! I thought I could Run through a level by killing a bunch of droids, but no, I was wrong. It's very frustrating when you get to Darth Maul, and there's a stupid force field puzzle! You die and die and die again. This was a very boring and frustrating part of the game that it could have done without (like Jar Jar Bnks in the movie!)

Story: The levels mostly follow the movie and everything is pretty well in order, nothing note worthy, nothing terrible.

Overall: Star Wars Episode I Jedi Power Battles is an ok game. With some minor graphic flaws and very boring uzzle flaws, it turns out that this game gets a 7 out of 10. I wouldn't recomend this game to buy, mostly because it gets boring quick, but it is a fun game to play with a friend to pass the time.
