"Somehow, cartoon conversions don't work... ever.."
The show was great. It had CG graphics, a good storyline, lots of humour, and ran for three seasons. So, I said to myself as I picked it up for the rental - it should be a good conversion... I was sadly mistaken.
The graphics are alot worse then the show - they appear polygonal and sometimes glitch. The backgrounds are okay, but nothing special. Most buildings look remotely like their show counterparts, but could have used more work. The FMV episode which is played between levels is a fresh breather, but still doesn't live up to the show. I'll be nice and give a 7/10
The music is negligable, and un-noticable. The sound effects are okay, but again, not withstanding from any other game. I could have sworn that a few of the sound effects are ripped, but I'm not sure. In the few times I actually heard sound, it was mediocre, and not what I thought they could do. I'll be nice and give a 6/10
The gameplay was definitely one of the worst areas of the game. You are running around on a hoverboard, sealing tears. Easier said then done. Controls are fairly bad, and when you get even remotely near a tear, they go beserk. The timing is also annoying. Many jumps are hard to pull off because of the bad controls. Load times also plague the game, and could have been shortened. However, the game does have 7 or so levels, each of them is fairly long. 6/10
The replay value would have been alot higher then it is if the annoyances in the game were worked out, but unfortunately, they weren't. It's worth a spin for the 3 or 4 dollars you pay for a rental, but a repeat performances is unlikely a smart move.
Overall, the game works out to a 6/10
