"The 2nd best fighting game of all time"

That's right, I say that Tekken 2 is the second best fighting game of all time, right behind Tekken 3. (I never have liked Street Fighter too much) Personally, I've spent more time playing this than any other game, possibly excepting NFL Blitz. Just to let you know, this is my first review here, and my format for the review is out of 37. (like anyone cares about any of this)

GRAPHICS (32/37)
These graphics were a perfect port from the arcade, which was impressive to begin with. The game came out for arcades in '95, and was put on the PSX in '96, becoming the new standard of good-looking-ness in videogaming. Everything's incredibly blocky, but very distinguishable, with such things as moving hair (at least one polygon flapping in the wind, usually a ponytail) and flowing costumes. (I can swear that Lei's big ol' coat moves) It was blown away by Tekken 3, but that doesn't make this any less impressive for its time. The CG cinemas are also incredible, if a little short.

SOUND/OTHER STUFF I DON'T CARE ENOUGH TO WRITE ABOUT (35/37)
No one really cares about sound, unless it's really annoying, so I'll just go with the customary ''It doesn't suck!''

GAMEPLAY/CONTROL (37/37)
This is where I mention that even though it's one of my favorite videogames, I suck at playing Tekken. I now a lot about it and am even sad enough to frequently visit http://www.tekkentagtournament.com/forum/bbheaven.html, but I have trouble pulling off the simplest moves in the game.
The four-button format is great for the PSX, though. Whether you're really good at Tekken or you suck at it and randomly hit buttons, (I don't like the term ''button mashing'') you can't argue with the way Namco set up Tekken, the ''button-to-an-appendage'' format. It's very intuitive and gives a break to random-button-hitters, yet favors masters of the game. It's great

THE ONE MOST AWESOME SMALL DETAIL OF THE GAME: I chose the wire-frame cheat to pick as the one most awesome small detail of this game, (hold L1+L2 while choosing character) nudging out the coolness of the shear number of characters, (25) the deformed mode, (hold select while choosing character) and the way thought bubbles pop out of characters if you let them stand there for a while.
THE ONE WORST SMALL DETAIL OF THE GAME: Law's ''I just got hit'' sound. Some say it sounds like a chicken, but I say it sounds like an ''oogle-boogle bird.'' (Rocky and Bullwinkle reference)

OVERALL (36/37)
