Gameday 98 is the best football game of the 98 year. The plays, tackles, and the crowd that make Gameday what it is are all back in a new year of football war.
GAMEPLAY 9
The gameplay is great. The game offers exhibition for practicing, and a season. I wish it had some more things to do besides a season and exhibition because they get boring after a while. You still can create a player, draft players, and trade players during a season. The draft to this game is better than Gameday 97 because this draft does its thing of jumbling up players and assigning teams to them for you. I like that idea because it is faster and easier. The controls react fast and are just like Gameday 97, so if you have played that game the controls are the same. If you have never played a Gameday I think you would catch on quickly to the controls. It has the basic icon passing mode, and running you just press the directional pad and the buttons that control the actions of your runner. I don't think it'd be too hard to catch on to them. Over all, the controls of Gameday 98 are tremendous, and only help the gameplay improve.
GRAPHICS 9
The graphics have improved a lot over Gameday 97. The players look more detailed. The football looks real it is not too big or small like some other games. The rain and snow look excellent.
SOUND 10
The sound to GAMEDAY 98 is the best sound on a football game when this game was made. The crowd egts in the game a little more but not quite enough yet. The hits and tackles sound more real. The music is louder but that is a good thing. The announcer says how many yards you lost if you get knocked back I think that is a nice feature to have. Over all I think the sound has improved the most.
DIFFICULTY 7
The difficulty has gotten a little harder in this game. I like that because I thought that Gameday 97 was to easy. I win a lot but I also lose some times as well.
REPLAY value 8
Around football season I pull this game out of my game holder and stick it in to my playstation to play. I like to do drafts and trades. It makes it like your riley a manager of your teams. Creating guys is fun to do as well because you can pick his weight and everything. The season is fun as well, I like to take teams that arn't good and see how far I can make it with them.
final thoughts
This game is truly a great game to have. I like this game. I have had it for 2 years and I still play it. I think this is the best Gameday
yet.
