"A Great Game for All You Squaresoft Fans!"

Introduction: Any Final Fantasy fan should have lots of fun playing this game, not just for the racing aspect, but also for the characters and story aspect. What a fun game! You get to play as many creatures from throughout the Final Fantasy Series. This game has a few modes you can play in: Story Mode, Grand Prix Mode, V.S. Mode, and Relay Race Mode. You can play as 1 or 2 players, which is quite fun when you get a good racer.

Gameplay 7/10: I must admit that while the game is fun, it is a bit lacking in the racing department. It's kind of a Mario Kart/Crash Team Racing type game. You speed around the track, all the while collecting magic stones which you can use to either defend yourself, or attack the other racers. There's fire, ice, thunder, haste, and many other powerful magic stones. 2 player V.S. Mode is so much fun when it's you against a buddy. You can blow each other up time and time again with the many magic stones. The racing in general is pretty fun.

Story: 7/10: Believe it or not, this game does actually have a story. All you Final Fantasy fans will probably love it. It ties in with a bunch of the games from the series.

Graphics/Sound 6/10: Nothing special graphics-wise that we haven‘t seen in a PS game. Not much to talk about. The music, however, adds a nice element to the specific track that you're racing on. Pretty good music. Exactly what you'd expect from any Squaresoft game.

Game time/Replayability 8/10: If you're any good at racing games, you can easily beat this game in 1-2 hours. As far as replaying goes, you can play the story mode many times to unlock secret characters you can race as. Also, depending on how well you play the story mode each time, you collect points you can use to build your own racer. You can make him any color, and you can change his skills.

Rent or Buy: If you're not a serious Square fan, I'd recommend that you rent it somewhere first. But for all you serious Final Fantasy fans, definitely add this to your collection.
