Sled Storm

"Don't waste your $ renting it, just rush out and buy it!"

Forget about those yearly released racing sequels that never improved much. This is a sleeper in the racing genre and it really refreshes the dull and same old road racing experience. I'm glad that I give it a try in the first place.

Graphics: 9/10
The 3D graphics in Sled Storm are so beautiful and fluid that you won't believe your own eyes! This is undoubtedly one of the best looking games on the playstation! Just to give you an idea of how good the graphic really is, just try to imagine the crisps graphic found in ''Spyro the dragon'' and then added with some detailed riders and their snow sleds, fluent animation and challenging terrain and you'll get Sled Strom. It's even better looking than some of the newly released PC sled racing titles out there. I'm not kidding!

Gameplay and Control: 9/10
The control in this game is good. You'll be able to race with the snow mobile from the first second you play it. The snow mobile reacted so nicely to your every command and yet at the same time handled with such realism. Believe me, no matter how bad you are in racing games, this game will surely help you to reclaim your interest in the racing genre.
The gameplay is great! The AI of the computer racer are pretty good, providing you with challenging races while at the same time do not discourage you from playing it again and again. Racing through the different snow terrain found in different tracks in this game is simply FUN! There are so many alternate routes in the each track that you will not get bored with the same track that easily. Unless you purposely inspects every tweaks and turns, you won't get bored of the tracks that easily as you'll find some new shortcuts from time to time unexpectedly. I've played this game a lot of times, just as I thought I've found all the shortcuts, I accidentally bumps into a new one. It really helps to keep things interesting.

Music and sound effects: 7/10
The music is nicely done and suits the gameplay pretty well. The sound effects are good but nothing astonishing.

Overall: 9/10
Get out there and get this title if you like racing even just a bit! Don't turn away simply because it's not a car racing game. Whether you play it on your own or you like to play it with your friends or family, this game rocks. This babe offers multi-player mode with 4 split screen that move along very smoothly while only sacrificing a little detail on the background. Most important of all, the control is easy to pick up. This is surely one of the best games playstation has to offer! A racing fan's collection won't be complete without this title. And casual gamers should also buy this game if they're thinking of getting a racing title.
