MediEvil II

"Worse sequel for a great game ever!!!"

The original medievil was a great game, and now we have Medievil 2. What went wrong? Let me count the ways.

Controls- 4/10 The original game had easy and instinctive controls, the sequel has way too many combinations and is not always the most responsive.

Camera- 1/10 Since most of this game is top down, for which there should be no camera problems, I'd have to call this the worst camera use yet. Mostly, the biggest problem is you can never see what you need to when you need to.

Graphics- 6/10 The graphics are not great but they are adequate and don't hurt the game

Sound- 7/10 Actually the sound and music are the best thing in this game

Gameplay- 3/10 In a word it stinks. There are some clever puzzles here but everything is ruined by the camera and control problems as well as a difficulty level that gets way too hard way too fast. Also, no matter what weapon you're using you can't hit anything if it's right on top of you. Trying to figure out which weapon to use on who and then changing to that weapon can get you severely hit. The original was fairly easy but now, besides not being able to save until you finish a level, if you go back to a previous level you can't keep anything you get until you completely finish the level again, and if your thinking about going back to replenish life vials, as you could do in the first as long as you refinished the whole level, if you used them the first time through they're still gone. The first 2 levels are fair, level three gets harder, and by levels 4 and 5 you're ready to quit.

Comments- This is a surprising long game so do yourself a favor and rent it first, you've been warned.
