Gekido
Review by Macho2000
"A pretty good game"
Gekido it's a game similar to Double Dragon, Street of Rage or Final Fight. Except this one is in 3D and it uses polygons instead of hand draw. This is a 32 bit beat'em up game and it's the best one on the playstation. Better than Fighting Force and Jackie Chan Stuntmaster.
Graphics (9/10)
Gekido is certainly one of the best looking game on the playstation. By far the best of his genre. It looks much better then Fighting Force and Jackie Chan Stuntmaster. With over 8 man on the screen at once, the game still look very incredible and it moves fast. Of course, the characters is not detailed as the one in Tekken 3, Tobal 2 or Bloody Roar 2 but hey...over 8 man on screen. The game looks much better then Wu-Tang Shaolin. The background are very well done a la Dino Crisis and Resident Evil (polygons).
Music/Sound (7.5/10)
The music is quite good and the sound effect is ok. Some of the sound are weird like when Michelle a character of the game does a a combination of punch and kick. Other then this everything else is fine.
Gameplay (7.5/10)
Just like Fighting Force and J.C. Stuntmaster. You beat up everybody that is on your way. It gets very repetitive after a while just like other game of his genre. One of the best feature of the game is that you can play 2 player cooperative. The feature is missing in most playstation game because of the playstation's limitations. There is also another mode called Arena Battle in the game. It plays much like Power Stone or Ehrgeiz. Running around an arena and beat up your opponents. You fight against 1 to 3 opponents.
Gekido is a decent game and it worth trying it if you like beat'em up games.
