Jade Cocoon is kinda like Pokemon meets an RPG setting. The Story Is Basically, These Monster Things attack a village, this guy in the village must find a special herb to cure some people who were attacked and are stuck in an ndless sleep...

When I first heard about this game, it was on an OPM Demo Disc, I thought the title looked interesting, so I looked at it, and it was awesome!! The whole story behind the game is interesting in itself, then, with all the other stuff thrown in, it is a great game all together.

Gameplay: 8
Ok, its fun, its got tons of monsters to kill/capture (more than 125, but you can merge them together too!), but for some reason, I didn't really like the way you move your guy around, it was kinda weird, but maybe thats because I have been Locked in my room playing FF8 for the last week ;)

Sound: 10
Ok, this is cool, there is speech for almost everyone you talk to, which is really a cool thing, since like, every RPG just has subtitles, this took a turn away from regular RPG's.

Graphics: 9
Sometimes they kinda look pixelized, but for the most part, the graphics are wonderful, in forests though, objects that you might want/need to collect blend in with the background.
The game also has some beautiful anime scenes that look just incredible.

This game has wonderful sound, beautiful eyecandy, and an intriguing storyline and characters, the game itself is kinda short, but since they is tons of monsters, you got plenty to do for a while. I really enjoyed playing ''Jade Cocoon'', even though it took me 2 days to complete it...Even though It is short though, ''Jade Cocoon'' was a well put together, entertaining and interesting game. I say, rent it and see if you like it, then buy it if you do...but as of today (June 16th, 2000) I bought it for 19.99 (new, not used) so you might just want to buy it, if you got the cash.
