Front Mission 3
Review by Andy007
"Another Great Square make!"
Graphics 8/10: Great graphics for a Playstation game. But anyways most Playstation games have great graphics. The battle animation is ok, I mean it isn't hard to recognize some things. The machines are cool looking, it is sort of like Mechwarrior with better graphics. The weapons firing graphics are also kinda great. It isn't all cheap like some other games. You may also enjoy the futuristic cinemas of Japan. It is also kind of interesting how Square made the air craft and cities look like. You may feel like you are watching a movie at a theatre. It is a good thing that Square was able to make great graphics for this great game, because you wouldn't want crappy graphics for Front Mission 3.
Sound/Audio 7/10: Not the best sound effects ever in PSX gaming. This game's sound effects are pretty much just average. I don't really make a big deal out of the sound, but it can really effect battle simulations. Believe me, you don't want poor cartoon sounds on a cool battle simulation game like this. The music is also ok, but I never paid attention to it. But some battle sound effects are awesome, like the weapons firing.
Gameplay 9/10: The greatest part of the Front Mission 3! Sound, Graphics, and Storyline really support the gameplay of this game. This game is kind of addictive if you can get the hang of it. As you get farther, you'll keep playing until you can't stop. This is a great war simulation game, it is sort of like a Age of Empires game, except in the future! Front Mission 3 gets challenging and you'll have to think your way through simulations. This will require strategy. So, if you buy this game, you better be prepared to read the manual and listen to instructions. This is no game a little kid can beat.
Storyline 8/10: This is war! An interesting and exciting storyline Front Mission 3 has. A bomb has been stolen from the original creator and the world is in threat. Now you must save the world! Cool huh? I think the storyline is a big part of gameplay and it keeps you wanting to play the game over and over again to save the world. I also like the futuristic robots and weapons.
Replay Value 7/10: This all depends on you if you want to replay the game. If you did terrible on your last game and want to try again, you should do so. But people who beat the game easily wouldn't want to replay the game, because it would just be a waste of time for them. But if you replay Front Mission 3 from the beginning, you get to save the world, again. You can see some more battle simulations.
Cost 8/10: Sometimes you may find this game for $45, $39, or even $29 at some places! The ok price for Front Mission 3 is $39, I think $45 is too expensive. If you are going to buy this game, you better finish it or you'll waste lots of money. At least sell it to a sucker for $30 so you don't waste money.
Overall 8/10: Hey, this game is great! I wonder if Square will make a Front Mission 4. The gameplay, storyline, and replay are the best qualities of Front Mission 3. You should first try the demo of this game. If you don't like it, don't buy it. The reason for trying a demo of this game is because you need to have a feel for the Front Mission world, and you need to get the hang of strategies and simulations. That's all I got to say about Front Mission 3.
