"The pinnacle is a great place to be!"

Twisted Metal 2 remains the untouchable pinnacle of vehicular combat. Not Vigilante 8, Rogue Trip, or any other Twisted Metals come close to it's greatness. SingleTrac did everything well, as you can see below. Most of my suggestions on the bottom came from this game, to add to the new ones, such as Twisted Metal 5.

GRAPHICS--7
The graphics are the main flaw in this game. They are pixelized and blocky most of the time, and they get quite choppy when there are lots of enemies on screen. On the other hand, the levels look very nice. My pixelized, blocky, and chopiness statement only applies to the vehicles. Honk Kong and Paris especially look nice. The subway in Hong Kong creates and interesting diversion.

MUSIC--9
The music has always been a strong point in the Twisted Metal series. It is some of the games in the series's only strong point. The music is all fast, and up-beat. It makes you want to blow up Twister and run-down Shadown. It makes you want to create mayhem and dustruction, only in the game.

CONTROL--10
And this is why this game gets a 10! Everything is perfect. The control does not try to be realistic. (We are still thanking you for that SingleTrac.) Everything about it is perfect. There are few roll-overs (a major problem in Twisted Metal 3). Most of the roll-overs happen when you are Sweetooth. (I think it is because of that thing on the top of his car.) The attacks are easy to aim. One problem that there is, is the fact that if you hit a jump, or goo up a steep hill, you cannot control yourself after you go in the air. In a level such as Moscow, you sometimes spend the whole time flying through the air. That can sometimes be more annoying than the roll-overs. But, the only level you really hurtle through the air in is Moscow.

FUN--10
This is the way, vehicular combat was meant to be. Straight up battling. None of this tourist stuff (Rogue Trip). Just let us destroy other vehicles. The co-op mode is the most important part in this game. I do not understand why there are less enemies in levels in co-op mode, than in 1-player. It is kind of unbalanced. This game has enormus replay value, since you want to beat the 1-player game with each character, so you can see all of the humorous endings. They will crack you up.

CLOSING STATEMENT
All of these vehicular combat games coming out now, strive to be as good as Twisted Metal 2. None of them have been, and I'm not sure that any of them will. Because this is one of the best games ever.
