Legend of Oasis
Review by Lord_Raikon
"Amazing yet unknown."
Streets of Rage + Legend of Zelda = Oasis / Story of Thor series.
Graphics - 7/10
Could be better but was already excelent. Those sword slashes are almost hypnotising. And those huge bosses are very detailed. I mean, REALLY detailed. The anime cutscenes are just...average, could be alot better, I guess they slacked a bit off on that aspect.
Sound - 8/10
The musical score is amazing, better than Beyond Oasis / Story of Thor 1
I'm still thinking if this outcomes Seiken Densetsu 3's soundtrack. The sound effects though, don't compare to the music but it's good anyway.
Story - 6/10
Not the best, yet there's alot worse than this. Two armlets, evil and good. Ordan, the most badass person in the game finds the good one, Golden Armlet, and gives it to Leon to go save the world since if one is found, the other is too, common sense! It's basic. Leon's a cooler name than Ali (Beyond Oasis' protagonist)
Replay Value - 8/10
You'd replay it a few times in harder difficulties. And then with the HIDDEN multiplayer function. Hell, I still play multiplayer with friends sometimes. But I only discovered there was a multiplayer after a LONG while.
Gameplay and Controls - 8/10
As I said, the gameplay resembles LoZ and SoR. No leveling. You can use various weapons and items. You can also use the spirits when you achieve them, they use different attacks by a push of a button, depending if you tap, tap twice or push hard. To summon the spirits, you shoot a beam from the Golden Armlet, if it hits a specific object of a spirit element, it summons it (Water for Dytto. A torch or other means of fire for Efreet) Like everyone says, the spirit AI sucks. They get stuck on walls pretty often. The puzzles in the dungeons are harder than in Beyond Oasis but they shouldn't give you THAT much of a trouble.
Final Rating - 8/10
Get it if you have a Saturn. This is one of my most memorable RPG's, I hope it is for you too. When I got the game, I never knew it was this unknown.
