Panzer Dragoon

"Its good ! short Review"

I have always wanted to play Panzer Dragoon since the first video I had seen as a kid . As you can imagine the Saturn had great appeal and I finally got one in 2008. The thing about Panzer Dragoon is it not only looked fun, it always looked like a good experience and it was. The part that drew me in for the whole short ride was the fact it was repetitive in nature but, it was also paced well enough to keep my attention. So you basically just hop on this dragon and fly and shoot. Thats all this game is and I wouldnt want it any other way. Overall I am giving this game a 9 out of 10.



Presentation 9
Its well done, great cutscenes, and the small story bits move the story along nicely. The menu screen is pretty cool. Level designs fit the game well.



Graphics 9
Shows its age but at the same time still shines in 2008 !
Even now I am very satisfied. The backgrounds hold up well to this day. The dragons are pretty detailed also. I think there was a few spots where I noticed some weakness but I do not remember.



Sound 8
Not the greatest but it gets the job done better than most. its really that simple. I do think it could have used a little more work but the other areas of the game picked up this parts slack.



Playability 10
The game is fun, at its core it can get frustrating with the switching angles, but thats what we had to do before we had analog and right analog sticks. Going back to the D pad was hard for me to get used to but at the same time it was a blast all the way through. Controls work well for the time era and the way the game was produced and developed. Its basic and so much fun.



Long Term Appeal 9
The game is way to short by todays standards, but its short enough if you get bored you can go back and beat it over and over. Like many games in that era the games were a few hours or less but the gameplay held them together so well you wanted to go back again and again and relive the experience.



Overall I give this game a 9/10 its short lived but engaging enough to make you want to play it again and again. This is what games used to be and maybe they should still be.
