Resident Evil

"A very good version of the PSX classic."

This is one of those instant classic games. Everybody has played it threw at least 10 times. Personally I think it's just awesome. I was so happy to find that it was for Sega Saturn and the computer, so I didn't have to have a Playstation to play the game. But i did infact get all the way to the end of it on my friends PSX. This game is AWESOME, if you haven't played it, buy it! It's quiet expensive though ($20 for Saturn). The game runs at a lower resolution than PSX and the computer, but does include more blood than the PSX, even if it is blocky. The game is exactly the same, all the ''great'' voice acting is intact. The only difference is that when you beat the game you unlock a secret battle mode, which is a nice final touch.

Graphics: 8.5
The backgrounds are very clear and just look awesome, but as for the 3d characters, they look very blurry, it doesn't matter though, the game still looks great for Saturn. The extra blood that is included in the game is very blocky, but atleast it's there. Everything has nice detail, but it's all the same as any other version.

Sound:9
The sound in this game is top notch. All the music is creepy instumentals and you can hear your foot steps echoing threw the hallways, the guns going off. The moan of Zombies wandering. It all together sounds great and has an overall creepy feel. (that's what the games supposed to be like!) But on the other hand, the voice acting is aweful. Not as bad as some games but it's down there. ''Wow what a mansion'' and the ''you, the master of unlocking'' lines will never be forgotten. heh heh.

Gameplay: 8.5
The control is wierd but you get used to it in about 5-15 minutes. There is a ton of stuff to pick up and you can check almost anything. You can also only hold a certian amount of objects at a time, That adds to the difficulty. And the lack of ammo and health do too. My only complaint is, if you've played any of the later Resident Evil's then you've noticed that you have (or it seems like) you have less health or the monster do more damage. Also i've noticed if you don't shake a zombie off, you will be eaten to death, even if you were in fine health.

Replay: 8
The game is quiet long and you will probably die a couple of times. After you beat the game you get a secret battle mode were you go threw different areas killing everything in the room. Believe me it's fun. Also if you beat it in a certain amount of time you get alternate costums and the Rocket launcer with infinant ammo! YES! Another thing that helps the replay pretty high is the game is fun, and it's also fun to make fun of the terrible voice acting. (wow, could I say fun any more in that sentence?)
