Command and Conquer was developed by british based Westwood studios. It Is a Strategy game, not an action Shoot Em up, consider that right away.

Storyline: Westwood must have got good scriptwriters as The Story Is top notch. You play the Man behind the scenes; The battle commander. You play one of two sides. The GDI (Goodies), are on a mission to stamp out an evil regime penned by the mysterious Kane and his Brotherhood of Nod. You must Fight all across Europe from Russian states to Germany and even to Italy or France. The second story, and Disc Puts YOU With the brotherhood of Nod and you order the solsiers and units around. You fight all across Africa from Egypt to Algeria in Varied Arid landscapes.

Graphics: The golden Rule: Don’t always buy games just for the graphics (Remember Scorcher?). In saying that, C&C’s Graphics are a little pitiful, and are worse than the PSX version (Saturn does have poor graphical abilities), but nevertheless do the job well. They look kind of like The Old Megadrive classic Cannon Fodder. But persevere: The backgrounds are all nicely drawn, as are the vehicles and units who all die with graphic and horrifying realism. You take control from a Helicopter view also, and It really does work well with the game as units are easy to move around and action can be viewed easily. The FMV’s are top notch. They have a tendency to glitch but mostly decent.

Gameplay: This can only be described as fast, Varied, addictive fun. Missions range from assassination, Skirmishes and Races against the clock. These are varied and addictive, you will more than likely succumb to the one more go syndrome. As aI mentioned earlier, the controls and views are great. It is Easy to play. Units can be moved about easily also. The good thing is The game is very lineaer, you go where you want, that really makes you feel in control.

Audio: The Voice acting Is superb and it is obvious they employed realvoice actors. The decent real time vide o makes it feel all the more real and most of them do their jobs superbly. The Soldiers die with Ghoulish realism and all other Audio is superb, especially the music which is very good as well.

Lifespan. This game will last for a very long time. About 25 missions, two discs and new ways to complete levels, this will be a very long game.

Overall I felt C&C was one of the best strategy games ever, and easily the best on the humble Saturn. Add this to your collection Immediately. If not sooner…..
