"A completely flawless wrestling game"

The cult following that 6MS has is well known and widespread. For the past two years, wrestling video game boards on AOL and other forums have been dominated with talk of this game. Even now, people still refer to this game as an act of God. It has stood the test of time. You certainly do not need a review to tell you what you already know, but I will throw my name into the hat anyway and give you my analysis of perhaps the most talked about wrestling video game ever made.

When Fire Pro Wrestling S: Six Men Scramble first came out, the wrestling game community was completely blown away and rightfully so. For the very first time on a 32 bit machine, there were hundreds of wrestlers to choose from, a large variety of different matches, and an unbelievable "create-a-wrestler" mode. People could not believe what Human had just given the world. It seemed impossible that one wrestling game could have so much. However, early import buyers soon realized that 6MS indeed lived up to its hype.

6MS is wonderfully put together and excels in almost all of the major categories. While there does seem to be some silly controversy over 6MS's use of 2D graphics, it really is just a bunch of smoke being blown by people who can't appreciate old style graphics. In this age of high powered 3D visuals, people seem to be abandoning tradition 2D, the way games used to be. The truth of the matter is that 6MS looks just fine. However, it plays wonderfully, and that is what REALLY counts. With all of the different options available, there is so much to do. This is one game that never gets old.

Good options and perfect control are what many wrestling games of today are missing. Even after 2 years, 6MS still has the most bang for the buck as far as the features are concerned. It is still the only 32 bit game (to my knowledge) that features octagon style matches, exploding ring death matches, six man tag team matches, triple threat matches, and a battle royal mode that allows up to six men in the ring AT THE SAME TIME. With all of the different combinations of matchups, you'll never tire of this game.

For those of you still wondering whether or not you should take the plunge and finally experience this game for yourself, I would definitely recommend it. Saturns can now be bought for DIRT CHEAP (I got a used one for $50) and 6MS is low priced as well if you shop around. Of course, you will need a converter or a mod chip in order to play the game, but I can't imagine those being too costly. Sure, you might have reservations about purchasing a system for ONE game, but when the system is now as as cheap as a regular priced game, there should be absolutely no hesitation. If you've been thinking about buying a Saturn and 6MS, now is the perfect time.
