"A decent game but, it could have been much better"

GAMEPLAY--- Have you ever played Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo and wanted to use those characters in a game? Well now you can. The game is Pocket Fighter. All you die hard fans of fighters can probably stop reading because this game isn't aimed at the elite. The game only has 3 buttons instead of the usual 6. The game still uses the gems from SPF2T but now, they are used to make your special moves stronger. the combos are also very dummed down consisting of button mashing that produces results. These results are the changing of costumes for the characters and some pretty funny animations. There are super moves and most of them are actually pretty funny as well.

STORY--- I Can't read japaneese so I really don't know any of the stories for the characters.

AUDIO/VISUAL--- The visuals in this game is actually pretty good. You can use no RAM card, a 1 meg RAM card or the 4 meg RAM card. All of the characters are drawn in the super deformed style. It's like using a growth stunted Ryu. While doing combos most of the characters change costumes. For example, Felicia turns into characters from Star Gladiator and even Mega Man. With the RAM cards the animation is very fluid. The sounds are standard with nothing that really sticks in my mind. The music is kind of annoying but, not to the point that you want to turn the sound off.

REPLAYABILITY--- After beating the game with all of the characters I haven't played it again. I don't think that there is very much reason to play it after you've beaten it, except maybe to show some friends.

OPINIONS--- I really think that Capcom could have made a better game wit these characters. What really hurts this hame, IMHO, is the lack of 6 buttons. With one kick, one punch and one special button the game gets boring fast.

BUY or RENT--- Unless you find it for $15-20 I would probably just rent the PSX version.
