World Heroes Perfect

"It may be a Street Fighter ripoff, but it's at least a GOOD Street Fighter ripoff"

The World Heroes series is probably SNK's least appreciated fighting game series. Maybe because it's too much like Street Fighter, maybe it's for other reasons. However, World Heroes Perfect is an excellent fighting game in its own right and deserves a spot in any Saturn owner's lineup.

Graphics: Bright and colorful, your average 2-D fighter fare. There are a lot of well animated and flashy special attacks though, especially with the super attacks each fighter can do.

Sound: Nothing special, but then again, nothing terrible either

Features: There are a good amount of characters to pick from (about 18 or so) that feature a good amount of variety. There are some clones and stereotypes (a pair of the most blatant Ryu/Ken clones ever are featured in this game) but there are also some interesting and unusual characters as well. As far as options go, there isn't much beyond the standard Arcade and Versus mode, although there are a few cool extras, including an artwork section, and some technical stuff that I can't read since I don't know Japanese.

Gameplay: Very much like Street Fighter, right down to the super attacks and special move types you can do. Many characters have similarities to a character from Street Fighter. For example, Hanzo and Fuuma are like Ryu and Ken, Janne plays similar to Guile, etc.

Overall: This is a fun fighting game for those who are Street Fighter fans or who already have all of the other SNK fighters already. Since its an older game, you may have trouble locating a copy, but you may also find it at a bargain price, which would be well worth it.
