"Yet another utterly fantastic Saturn game"

I think Sega Rally is one of the most enjoyable racing games that has been created. The arcade game was amazing, smooth, fast, and fun to play. Luckily, the Saturn game is just as good-if not better.

Graphics:8/10
Very good. Everything moves at a smooth rate, with no apparent slowdown. The cars are well represented in the game, and the scenery and track elements are all perfectly modeled, with the exception of the spectators, who look like something out of Predator.

The backgrounds are extremely good, too, photographic quality, and very clear. The menus are easily navigated, and the tuning screen features some slick 3D models.

The only problem is that it is a bit grainy compared to other games of it's time, but that doesn't detract from it's overall greatness.

Sound:7/10
Great for a game of it's time. The music is long, and is of a good quality, and it does not get boring or repetitive. The music isn't hummable or particularly memorable, but it suits the rally theme of the game.

The sound effects are good, with various clanks, crashes and bangs, and some good engine noises-better than most rally games of that year!

The only thing that gets mildly annoying is the narrator/commentator bloke, with his insane 'Game Over, yeah!!' chants and his funny directions as the co driver.

Gameplay:9/10
Starting off with 2 cars and 3 tracks, the first impressions aren't very good. But dig a little deeper, and you'll uncover it's true beauty. Sega Rally is one of the most addictive and fun rally games there are out there. With arcade mode, and a few more besides, it will last you a while, and is a blast one it lasts. The sensation of speed is absolutely fantastic. You can't beat the feeling of flying over them 3 bumps on the desert course, and lending again, and seeing your car bump about a bit.

Another thing, you can tune your car to exactly how you want it. You can adjust the front and rear suspension, the steering, the suspension-loads of stuff!

The thing that makes Sega Rally special is just that it you'll never get bored. The game is so addictive it'll keep drawing you back, for another 'quick go'

Challenge and fun factor:9/10
It will take ages for your to master the more advanced of it's tracks, and will take you a while to get accustomed to each car and learn it's attributes.

The game is great to play, every minute of it is pure gaming bliss.

Overall:8/10
An absolutely fantastic game, that every should play. The Sega Saturn rocks.
