Off-World Interceptor Extreme
Review by Link 7
"The game that makes Superman64 look good!"
''The game that makes Superman64 look good!'' yes thats right, Superman64 is a fun game compared to this.
Graphics
Awful....simply awful, each level looks like it's made out of 50 to a 100 polygons, and each enemy looks like it maybe consists of 10 to 20 polygons. so to make what I'm saying simple-The graphics hurt your eyes to look at! also the off-road super car you control(or any of the other limited cars you can get) look like messed up ''pixelated'' wrecks not some cool ''off-road racer'' like they call it in the manual. the Cinema scenes? yes they have em, but they are some of the most cheesy(yes they even say that on the back of the game box!) piles of crap to ever be put into a videogame! yes there that bad. first of all Crystal_Dynamics(the maker of this game) mean't to make the FMV's overly lame why? good question, anyway to make some witty jokes about the stupid videos they call cut-scenes..the developers made it so two college kids? with the combined I.Q. of a brick make jokes about the FMVS...well lets just say their jokes/comments are about as funny as watching powerpuff girls reruns for hours.
Even for being an early Saturn game these graphics/FMVS are weak.
Graphics my score 3.4/10 rounded to fit GameFAQs rating system 3/10
Sound
GAH! this sucks too! the music tracks during game play will have you reaching for the remote to mute the sound, and the sounds of your car/truck while playing is just as bad(add in some other trucks driving around aimlessly trying to kill you and some gun fire/explosions) and you have the the sound track for Off-World_Intercepter:EXtreme oh yea and don't forget the girl that tells you what car you've selected in a half asleep/bored/hate to be working on this game kinda voice.

Control
The Sega Saturn has one of the best standard controllers ever! so why did they make the default?(I'm not sure if you can change the control setup..luckily I didn't play this game long enough to find out) controls so bad and unresponsive? turning is easy, but shooting, jumping, using your ''Plasma'' and ''Airstrikes'' isn't. they should have made it so that you have one button to cycle thru your limited weapons and use another to fire! but they made it so each button does something totally different so that you'll be pressing the wrong button/using the wrong weapon at the wrong time(ok I'll stop saying ''wrong'' now)
Control my score 5.3/10 rounded to fit GameFAQs rating system 5/10
Gameplay
Your a Bounty_Hunter in outer-space that must take out the Galaxys baddest criminals..and thats the whole story. the objective of the game is to race that planets boss on each of the 7 worlds, instead of actually racing them you just drive in a straight line blasting anything that moves to get to the end of that stage. the amount of hostile vehicles you fight in each level is massive! but that dosen't mean the game is challenging, the AI is amazingly stupid...enemy cars slam into you and even eachother killing themselves(but not you) so the only real challenge is to get to the end before the extremly short time is up. this game lacks depth and fun, you can cusomize your cars with ''battle points'' that can make your car faster, tougher ect even with maxed stats in every catagory I found that the vehicles don't seem any different.
Gameplay my score 4.6/10 rounded to fit GameFAQs rating system 5/10
Final Comments
This game dosen't even try to be good, as I stated before even the back of the games package says the game is cheesy! aviod this game at all costs(no matter how much of a Saturn fan you are)
Game rating my score 4.1/10 rounded to fit GameFAQs rating system 4/10
