"An amazing experience you'll never forget. Best. Game. Ever."
Wow, what an amazing game. Words can't describe just how amazing it is. You feel like you're in a movie. Everything is perfect from start to finish. When the credits roll in the beginning with that somber music playing in the background, you know that you're playing more than just another game. Enemy Zero is the most breath-taking experience in existence.
Graphics: 10
If you ever question the Saturn's superiority over the Playstation, just take a glimpse at this. These graphics could hold up even if this game was made on a modern system. With that said, you can just imagine how great they were for the time. The character models are superb. Everyone has defining physical characteristics that help breathe life into them. You feel like you could actually sit down and have a conversation with some of the characters. The backgrounds are equally well-done. If I was ever on a ship in space, I would imagine that it would look something like this. The lighting effects work perfectly to create that haunting atmosphere that WARP had to have been looking for.
Sound: 10
Normally, I couldn't care less about sound, but in this game, it makes something great become perfect. The way the electronic doors open is 100% realistic, and the aliens' screaming is more than enough to send chills down your spine. The music blends perfectly with every scene. Whether it's a terrifing battle with an alien, or a calm chat with someone on the ship, there's always a fitting tune playing. As great as all that is, the sound doesn't reach it's full potential until you encounter an alien. These creatures are invisible, and the only way to decipher where they are is by a device on your ear that beeps according to where the alien is. After you've experienced this device going crazy as an alien closes in on you, you'll never want to go to sleep again.
Playability: 8
The controls take a little getting used to. That doesn't mean they're bad, it just means that you have to take a minute to learn them. The first few times you play, you're gonna die a few times. Impatient beginners may drop the controller before they can get too far into the game. However, once you've learned the ropes, you'll have trouble taking your eyes off the TV... or even blinking.
Entertainment: 10
This is what games are all about. No matter how shiny and polished a game is, it won't get anywhere if it isn't fun to play. Well, Enemy Zero lives up to the challenge. It mixes first person shooter elements with adventure amazingly. Charging your gun and timing your shots right is crucial, which means that you need skill. Finding items and figuring out how to use them while on the run from invisible aliens is the most fun I've ever had. In my opinion, this is the scariest game you'll most likely come across, especially with the lights out.
You really can't go wrong with this game. Choose any element of it, and it's hard to find anything wrong with it. Go and get this game. If you don't have a Saturn, go and get that too. It's more than worth it. If a perfect game exists, this is it.
